How to Temporarily Use Thermostats After Operating Hours
To prevent the thermostats from being turned On and then running for long-periods of time, you can use the thermostat’s schedule to allow short override periods. Temporary overrides are handled using the Schedule Dashboard, by creating multiple set times after-hours with the desired economy settings.
This temporary override will stay active until the next scheduled set time. For sites that allow after-hour overrides, we recommend setting the schedule to revert to the after-hours economy setting every one or two hours in order to limit how long the system continues to run.
For example, consider adding temperature setbacks with keypad unlocked every hour or two after the regular work day ends. This will ensure that the economy settings are restored within a reasonable amount of time if someone manually changes the thermostat temperature after-hours.
